Continuing in the footsteps of previous Lumia 500-series smartphones, the just-announced Microsoft Lumia 550 is the company’s newest addition to the super-affordable line. Slated for a December launch, the Lumia 550 will cost $139 and bring Windows 10 for Mobile to the masses.On the inside, as can be expected, the Lumia 550 is a conservative, entry-level solution that is aimed at first time smartphone users and people on a budget. Microsoft actually spent less than 10 seconds on the phone, and official pages are not available yet, so the best we can do is go on a leaked slide that provides a quick rundown of the specs. Microsoft announces the Surface Pro 4, 50% more powerful than the MacBook Air

Today, October 6, Microsoft announced the Surface Pro 4. This productivity-oriented workhorse tablet that features a sleek and elegant design, Intel-powered hardware, and a bunch of accessories, such as type covers, a dock station, and a powerful stylus to enhance the user experience.The Surface Pro 4 features a large 12.3-inch display with a 2160 x 1440 resolution, which is on par with competing tablets in the Pro category, such as the Galaxy Note Pro 12.2 and the Apple iPad Pro. The 12.3-inch display is able to sense 1024 levels of pressure from its stylus. Its pixel density adds up to 267 pixels per inch, which is very good for the size. The screen is covered in 0.4mm Gorilla Glass and has a very thin 1.1m backlight unit. It also has a special Touch Chipset, developed by Microsoft and dedicated to the stylus and touchscreen operations.The tablet boasts thin screen bezels and its overall look is reminiscent of the Dell XPS 13, an almost border-less fashion piece of a laptop. Microsoft Lumia 950 and 950 XL price and release date

Microsoft just showcased its first Windows 10 Mobile handsets – the Lumia 950 and its XL sidekick – along with the newest Surface convertible. The phones will be the poster kids for Microsoft’s brand new push in mobile hardware, after it introduced the screen size-agnostic Win 10, and wrote off the Nokia merger, starting with a completely clean slate. The 950 and 950 XL are every bit as cool as the rumors indicated, with high-res 5.2″ and 5.7″ displays, Snapdragon chipsets, 20 MP PureView cameras with ZEISS optics, the works. How much for these beauties? Well, $549 for the Lumia 950, and $649 for the Lumia 950 XL. That’s in line with other flagship and midrange handsets in the Android-iOS duopoly land, so we’ll see how the new Windows 10 Mobile gear fares in the market once it hits the shelves next month.Read more here
