Every model 02 is configured with OQO’s breakthrough software that provides one touch access to many of the computer’s settings and functions including the ability to change screen resolution on-the-fly with dedicated zoom keys. “The OQO model 02, which incorporates VIA’s recently released C7M ultramobile processor, represents a dramatic leap forward in personal computer design. OQO’s unprecedented systems engineering and software integration has pushed the boundaries of fully mobile, high performance, ultra low power computing,” said Wen-Chi Chen, president and CEO of VIA Technologies. OQO Defines the UMPC Pro Category The OQO model 02 is the first computer in the UMPC Pro category. OQO accomplished this feat by squeezing enterprise class features and functionality into a pocketable ultra mobile form factor. The model 02 puts the power of a networked computer into the hands of mobile workers, allowing them anytime / anywhere access to all the information on their hard drive while preserving total Windows compatibility and enterprise-class Windows security. “OQO’s innovative model 02 computer brings the capabilities of Windows Vista to a truly mobile form factor,” said Bill Mitchell, Corporate Vice President of Microsoft’s Mobile Platforms Division. “The OQO model 02 enables a revolutionary new mobile computing paradigm for the professional or enterprise user.” The model 02 also includes Origami Experience™, the most recent interface for UMPCs that optimizes entertainment and communications on the smallest class of personal computers running Windows Vista. Mobile professionals also demand a no-compromise solution at their desks. The new model 02 docking station delivers that solution. The dock, based on OQO’s patented cradle, adjusts the model 02 position for desktop viewing, and can also easily collapse for portability. The docking station allows users to work at their desks with a full size display, keyboard, mouse, and wired networking, and then take their data and applications on the road with no synchronization required. The dock also includes an integrated slot loading optical drive enabling software installation, data archiving, and audio/video playback at the user’s fingertips. “OQO has always pushed the envelope on revolutionizing the personal computer form factor, but industry-watchers know that the big news with the model 02 is the integrated 3G capability,” said Rob Enderle, Principal Analyst for the Enderle Group. “This will satisfy the strong demand among mobile professionals to take full-fledged PC capabilities anywhere there is a cellphone signal – on city streets, in suburban subdivisions and deep into rural areas.” OQO model 02 Features include: 1.5GHz VIA C7M ULV processor (also available with 1.2GHz) 60GB hard drive, shock-mounted with active drop detection (also available with 30GB) 1GB DDR2 SDRAM (also available with 512MB) Dimensions: 5.6″ x 3.3″ x 1.0″ Weight: 1.0 lb 5″ indoor/outdoor readable display (800 X 480 native; interpolated up to 1200 x 720) HDMI output for connectivity to HDTV displays and DVI monitors up to 1920 x 1200 VGA output through bundled VGA/Ethernet adapter for analog monitors up to 1920 x 1200 DisplaySense™ for detection and recall of external display settings Ergonomic thumb keyboard with SmartLock™ modifier keys, mouse buttons and Integrated track stick pointing device Integrated capacitive TouchScrollers™ for horizontal and vertical scrolling Embedded EV-DO WWAN (optional) for Sprint Integrated WiFi 802.11a/b/g Bluetooth® 2.0 wireless with EDR and A2DP support USB 2.0 port Audio out / line-in port Microphone Integrated active digitizer with optional digital pen (standard with Tablet PC Edition) Removable lithium ion polymer battery (available in standard and double capacity) Battery life up to six hours with double capacity battery Embedded hardware AES encryption engine Integrated TPM 1.2 (Trusted Platform Module) Rugged magnesium alloy chassis Removable screen protector The OQO model 02 docking station includes: Adjustable docking cradle Choice of dual layer DVD±RW/DVD-RAM or CD±RW/DVD-ROM optical drives HDMI digital video out with bundled HDMI-DVI adapter VGA video out 3 USB 2.0 ports 100 Base-T Ethernet Audio out / line-in port Pricing and Availability The OQO model 02 can be ordered today at our online store or by calling OQO sales at 877.676.6688, with a base price of $1,499.
