Review of GSM/UMTS smartphone Nokia 6110

“The design of the 6110 is fine, even though it provides slightly odd slider action – the auto-opening mechanism doesn’t particularly make the halves “slide open”. One of the explanations was given by the company manager attending the exhibition – according to his words, Nokia 6110 is meant to be used mainly in car, where avoiding accidental openings plays a key role. Sounds logical, doesn’t it? So don’t expect a feather-light slider action, but overcomplicating the things is not an option either – after all the 6110 does pretty good on this front.” Read more here:

Wrist Phone M500 Ships this Week

“Australian SMS Technology ships the M500 touch screen wrist phone (see hi-res photos). Yes you read that correct, SMS Technology ships the M500 not the former model M300, which they announced in Summer of 2006. The company has converted the previous orders of patient early adopters for M300 into the more advanced M500 and is offering only the M500 going forward. The SMS Technology M500 mobile wristphone is water resistant and is a Quadband GSM phone supporting frequencies 850Mhz, 900Mhz, 1800Mhz and 1900Mhz. Other features of the M500 are a 1.5 inch color touch screen with 120 x 160px resolution, 128MB Built-in Memory, MP3 and MP4 player, Bluetooth 2.0, USB, Java, WAP, SMS, MMS, talk time of 200 minutes and a standby time of 80 hours. Forum posts on the SMS Technology indicated that only 500 M500 are currently available for direct order. I assume the company wants to switch to a distributor model. The current price f a M500 is 1,000 AUD (~$820 USD). Waiting for a local distributor to carry the cool looking wrist phone might make it more affordable. ” via slashphone.com
