Sophia Nani: Officially, Windows CE 6.0
“The Japanese iPhone killer Sophia Nani has been launched in Japan, and it’s a Windows CE 6 device with PDA functionalities to die for, powered by an RMI Alchemy Au1250 Media Processor 600MHz CPU. That’s 600MHz of crazy computing power. We’ve seen the rusty orange and the white version, and I must say the official launch press photos are showing a delectable eggshell white PDA phone that doesn’t remind you any way of the iPhone (there’s also a blue version if you read on). We told you before our opinion about the Sophia Nani being labeled an iPhone killer, which we completely disagree with. This PDA is a complete PMP with MPEG, Divx, Xvid, MP3, WAV, WMA and Ogg Vorbis support. It’s special from all other devices we’ve seen here in the States and in Europe for its W-SIM, a super SIM with receiver and transmitter built-in. It’s also WiFi connected, of course, and a GPS navigator. Specs of the Sophia Nani: – 140 x 80.5 x 17mm at 180 grams- 4.3-inch WVGA 800 x 480-pixel TFT screen- dual cameras- Windows CE 6- RMI Alchemy Au1250 Media Processor 600MHz- MPEG-1/2/4, DivX, Xvid (built-in)- WAV, WMA, MP3, Ogg Vorbis (built-in)- JPEG, BMP- MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, PDF), Media Player- GPS Navigation- Wi-Fi (IEEE802.11b/g), PHS (W-SIM)- miniUSB, 3.5mm headset jack- microSD card slot” More photos here:
