HTC P5500 Nike gets another name, new shape HTC Touch II
“HTC P5500 Nike Touch II, that’s a definite mouthful, isn’t it? It’s as if HTC just can’t make up their minds about what to call their damn phones! First it was the HTC-branded HTC P5500, codenamed “Nike“. Now we’re hearing that the HTC P5500 Nike will be released as the HTC Touch II.Last we saw, this vertical slider (a first for HTC) had a “squared-off” shape. The HTC Touch II pictured here looks like it’ll be following in the footsteps of the HTC Touch (of course) with it’s sleek, new, rounded shape. But, this is obviously a mock-up and it’s lack of Windows Mobile 6.0 puts the new design on dubious ground. As much as we’d like to see a successor to the HTC Touch (especially in a vertical slider form factor), we’re not going to be holding our breath for the HTC P5500 Nike to be it. At least not until we get some solid pics to back it up.Either way, with a spec sheet that includes Windows Mobile 6.0 Professional (which lends itself nicely to packing the TouchFLO interface, what with the touchscreen and all), quad-band (850/900/1800/1900Mhz) GSM radio with HSDPA, 2 megapixel camera, and a 400Mhz processor, we’re dying to meet the HTC P5500 Nike in person – whatever it ends up being called.” via intomobile.com
