Consumers Design Mobile UI for LG Cell Phones

“LG Electronics announced the planned launch of mobile handsets adopting user interface devised by consumers. Under the theme of Art in Mobile, LG held UI Content Contest from December last year, inviting ordinary consumers including college students to design flash UI and video animation, and selected 10 winners. The company says the selected works will go through fine-tuning for commercial use. Driving UI, the prize winner in flash UI contest, applies a dashboard to a touch screen phone, giving unique pleasure. Sixty Seconds, the video animation winner depicts the routine of using a mobile phone including messaging, music, photo and web browsing for sixty seconds equivalent to the waiting time before a call is connected. LG says, “With the touch-phone market taking shape, consumers are getting more interested in UI and contents that are easier and more fun.
