Handy Shell for Symbian S60 review!

Handy Shell

“The contacts view works in pretty much the same way as the applications view – 12 slots to put in your favourite contacts for dialling. If they have a thumbnail graphic that is used, alternatively a nice font is used to get as much of their name in as possible. One thing missing here (perhaps a bug, or earmarked for the next release?) is some intelligent context awareness. If I’m on a contact and select ‘New… [SMS] Message’ from the menu is it wrong to expect Handy Shell to pre-populate the message editor with the correct phone number? What’s weird is that if you select ‘Create Message’ on the top level menu, it does pre-populate the editor. Curiouser and curiouser.” Read more here:

Samsung D980 Dual Sim Phone: Available in Russia

“Remember the Samsung D980 that we talked about in July and was released in China? The cellphone will also become available in Russia in the upcoming weeks, but so far there is no information about the price. One of the best features on the D980 is the Dual-SIM functionality, which basically means it supports 2 SIM cards at the same time.
The upcoming (in Russia) Samsung cellphone has a 2.6-inch touchscreen with 240×320 pixels as the resolution, and includes a stylus so you can easily use the TouchWiz interface. Although it doesn’t support 3G, it is compatible with 900/1800/1900MHz GSM/GPRS/EDGE bands.
Additional features on the Samsung D980 include support of microSD memory cards of 2GB, FM radio tuner, bluetooth, and a 5-megapixel camera with flash + autofocus.” via mobilewhack.com

8 megapixel GSM Cameraphone Comparison Q4 2008

“Unless you’ve lived in a cave for the past few years, you have noticed that the camera has become one of the key features in mobile phones. It is of such importance that the first thing some people ask when a new phone comes out are “How many megapixels?”. However, as we did explain in our cameraphone buying guide, the resolution does not provide information for the quality of the pictures but for their size. And what if you had several 8-megapixel phones with almost identical capabilities? Things get more complicated, because at least in theory, the results should not be much different. Nevertheless, we always like to get the most detailed results and have a unanimous “best of the best” device, which is the reason for this comparison.
The rivals here will be:

• Samsung Pixon
• Samsung INNOV8
• LG Renoir
• and Canon SD870 IS 8-megapixel point-n-shoot camera for reference” Read more here:
