Sharp unleashed two smartphones for Japan called Aquos Crystal and Crystal X tidat. The Crystal X is the better-equipped phone of the two with a 5.5″ 1080p display, Snapdragon 801 chipset with a 2.3GHz processor and 2GB of RAM.
It has 32GB of storage and a 2,610mAh battery. Both Aquos Crystal smartphones sport incredibly thin bezels which means great screen to body size ratio with the 5.5″ Aquos Crystal X measuring just 139 x 73 x 11mm, making it much smaller than the 5.5″ LG G3 146.3 x 74.6 x 8.9 mm.
The Sharp Aquos Crystal opts for a 5″ 720p panel, Snapdragon 400 with a quad-core 1.2GHz processor, 1.5GB of RAM, 8 gigs of storage and a 2,040mAh battery. It does pack a Harmon Kardon-branded sound package with Clari-Fi and LiveStage tech (the first allowing you to recover some information after compressing the music and the latter to stream to the Harman Kardon ONYX Bluetooth speaker). The phone is based on Android 4.4.2 KitKat.
The Aquos Crystal has an even smaller frame – 131 x 67 x 10mm. Interestingly neither phone is water-resistant, a feature some Aquos smartphones have.
Both smartphones will launch in Japan but the Sharp Aquos Crystal will also be available for pre-order in the US on Sprint (owned by SoftBank) tomorrow with availability kicking-in on August 29.via gsmarena.com
