“We first talked about the DualCor cPC handheld back in January. The device has the intriguing capability of being able to run both Windows XP Tablet PC Edition and Windows Mobile 5.0. The cPC uses a 1.5GHz VIA C7 processor (which was just announced), 1GB of DDR2 memory and a 40GB hard drive when running Windows XP. There is also a 400MHz Intel Xscale PXA263 version coupled with 128MB RAM/1GB ROM when running Windows Mobile 5.0.After the hype surrounding the initial announcement, we now have pricing information on the DualCor cPC. Our readers’ eyes bulged when we stated that UMPCs would range from $600 to $1,000. They may be even more surprised to learn that the cPC will ring in at well above the $1,500 mark for enterprise users direct from the manufacturer. In fact, to get a cPC from Westwood, you will have to pay $1,500 plus an additional $500 bucks (although Westwood does throw a three year warranty in with the deal).$2,000 seems like a hefty price to pay for a “do everything” device.
