Nimbuzz now optimized for Nokia 5800 XpressMusic!

“Nimbuzz has optimized its multi-network instant messaging and social networking client for Symbian S60 5th edition. This means that the user interface is re-done to sing along Nokia’s touch-enabled platform. Among the features included in this release are:

  • Landscape chat – allowing you to use a wider on-screen keyboard
  • Shortcut buttons for quick links to update your profile, status, or personal message
  • No need for the stylus – Nimbuzz is finger friendly
  • Personal messages are fully displayed in the contact list for all communities.

Like with other Nimbuzz versions, the one optimized for S60 touch supports 14 different instant messaging communities and social networks — including Skype, Windows Live Messenger, Facebook, MySpace, Yahoo, Google Talk — and also allows you to call your buddies from Nimbuzz, Skype or Gtalk using your mobile data plan or WiFi connection. Moreover, you can call land and mobile lines at low rates with SkypeOut or using one of Nimbuzz’s SIP partners. Before downloading, want to see Nimbuzz running on the Nokia 5800 XM in action? A short video follows after the jump. Enjoy!” via intomobile.com

Nokia N79 and Nokia N85 firmware upgraded to v20.175

Firmware v20.175

“Following on the heels of the Nokia N96, the Nokia N85 and Nokia N79 have both received significant firmware upgrades, to version 20.175. There are the usual small fixes and application updates, which seem to have squashed most of the major bugs. The major additions are turning controls (flip to silent for incoming calls and alarms) and Nokia’s email wizard, together with email notifications on the active idle screen (homescreen). The new firmware can be updated via Nokia Software Updater (a component of Nokia PC Suite) or over the air (OTA). To update via OTA, enter *#0000# in the idle screen to access the device manager, then choose ‘Check for updates’ from the Options menu, before following the on screen instructions. The email wizard (‘Set up e-mail’, also known as Gimlet) is now becoming a standard part of Nokia’s S60 devices. As on other devices, you’re offered a choice between Nokia e-mail, which sets up email in the built in Messaging application, and Nokia Email Service (also known as Nokia Messaging), which offers a consumer push email solution for any existing email address.” Read more here:
