Windows Phone Marketplace inches over 40,000 app mark

Windows Phone might be tanking in terms of marketshare, but it has nevertheless passed a big milestone in terms of growth: it now has 40,000 apps and counting. That might seem like small potatoes compared with the likes of Android and iOS, but remember that Windows Phone is only a year old and already has the third largest app store, having sailed past the likes of RIM. At the moment there are around 165 new apps being added every day although All About Windows Phone notes that 5,000 or so previously released apps have been expunged from the store. Even so there were approximately 5,000 new apps added in the last month alone and with Nokia now onboard the good ship Windows Phone, devs might be a bit more keen to get their creative juices flowing on Microsoft’s platform.” via mobile-review.com
