“Huawei has just announced the release date for Ascend D1 Quad XL, their new high-end flagship device. The Chinese maker has just publishes a press release announcing that Huawei Ascend D1 Quad XL will be priced at €499 (£395/$625), featuring a really nice hardware. The Ascend D1 Quad XL release is set for December and it will first reach Germany, with the rest of Europe following soon. It sports a Huawei K3V2 1.2Ghz quad-core CPU, 1GB of RAM, 8GB of internal memory, expandable through the microSD slot, a 4.5-inch display and a 2,600 mAh battery. We first saw the device at IFA berlin, last week, and it tries to compete on the high-end market against the Samsung Galaxy S3, HTC One X and others. While its specs are slightly lower than its competitors, it does come with a better price, making it really competitive. The Huawei Ascend D1 Quad XL will be available in matte black and ceramic white. Unfortunately we don’t know anything about a US release date, though carriers should get it early in 2013 and it will probably be priced at around $500 without a contract.Until know we only know it comes with Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich and Huawei didn’t announce yet if they are preparing a Jelly Bean update. Also it doesn’t seem to come with their new Emotion UI. We guess that once they get the Jelly Bean update ready, it will come bundled with their own UI though.” via android.gs
