“Booting up TrafficTV on any smartphone (here I’m using the S60 3rd Edition-powered E61) is straightforward enough, although as with any Java-based system there’s a huge hit in terms of RAM – you’ll lose 6MB at the very least, meaning that to stand a chance of running this you’ll need an N70 or better (in the Series 60 world). Susprisingly, TrafficTV blends in well with the native S60 interface and only occasionally are there reminders that this is one huge J2ME midlet. On starting up there’s a familiar collection of traffic speed blobs (the redder, the slower the traffic) and it’s easy to zoom in and out, scrolling around to see just the area of the country you’re interested in.” Read this review here:
MobiBLU US2 DAP is nano slim, almost RAZR like
“Ever since the release of the Motorola RAZR so long ago, the mantra of “slim is in” has been steadily increasing in volume across the marketplace, and its influence has stretched beyond the realm of mobile phones. We already see several skinny music players like the iPod nano flooding our streets and now mobiBLU is gearing up to go skinny on us with their new US2 MP3 player. The US2 (which stands for “UltraSlim-2″; I must have missed the first one) is less than a centimetre thick. If it weren’t for the unsightly bulge at the top, this mobiBLU player would be just as skinny as the nano. The simple polished aluminium casing is soft spoken in its elegance, but the navigation keys at the bottom are clearly RAZR-influenced. The 1.5-inch OLED color display appears to be a decent size, and the SRS WoW audio processing should keep the sound quality up among the best of them. It appears to one up the nano in that it will also to do video, photos and recording in addition to audio, though they don’t mention any specifics regarding formats and codecs.Look for the MobiBLU US2 to start shipping the middle of next month in 1GB, 2GB, and 4GB varieties.” via mobilemag.com
Treo Nitro and Treo Lennon coming to Cingular in October
Engadgetmobile.com has a great rumor about two new treo devices coming in October”Hugeness: The Boy Genius has scored again, this time with an exclusive Cingular roadmap showing that they’re planning on releasing not one, but two new Treo smartphones this coming October. Codenamed “Nitro” and “Lennon”, both Treos appear to be the first significant evolution of the Treo formfactor since the Treo 600 debuted in 2003, and though it’s hard to make out too many details, neither appears to have an external antenna. The Treo Lennon is listed as having UMTS and Class 10 EDGE, a 1.3 megapixel digital camera, WiFi (built-in, one can only hope), and sports Windows Mobile 5.0 with MSFP. Not quite as many details about the Treo Nitro, but it is listed as having a 1.3 megapixel digital camera and appears to be running the Palm OS.”

Review of GSM handset Pantech PG6200
“This handset does not look so attractive when it is closed, a sort of rectangle with slightly rounded edges. Even the fact that case color is completely black and even the fact that there are some “metal” styled plates does not save the situation. Phone loses its unique style and does not draw attention, unless you open it. Oh, and speaking of opening again, some will have to use both hands in order to perform this operation. Picking up upper side is quite hard unless you have large nails. For some mysterious reason upper part is narrower than the lower one, and deepening on sides is too small, additionally mechanism is quite tight. So in order to open handset by using only one hand – you will have to spend some time practicing.” Read more here:

Super Talent MP3 Player review: nano or no no?
“The Super Talent 2GB MEGA Screen MP3/FM/Recorder Player (Black), as it’s officially called, is unquestionably an iPod nano knockoff. It’s a bit smaller and shorter than the nano, although slightly thicker. It uses USB for both transferring MP3 files as well as for charging the unit (which I like a lot – all gadgets should do this!), although I was disappointed to see a proprietary USB adapter at the end (an annoyance in Japan!) and the battery life was overall slightly disappointing. Transferring files went fairly quickly, and no new drivers needed to be installed on my laptop, which was also a nice plus. ” Find out more about this nice player here:

Presto, charge: a battery refiller for your portable electronics
“No matter what battery-powered device we have to charge these days, we can all depend on the myPower ALL MP3400.It’s being billed as a universal rechargeable battery. It can power up your laptop, your MP3 player, your DVD player, your mobile phone, your digital camera—all using the same port. Now that is something we could enjoy carrying around in the laptop bag.You do have to sort of pay attention when hooking up that electronic device for recharging. You’ll have to choose the right setting on the voltage selector. And if you don’t know off the top of your head, you might wait until you know for sure. No sense plugging in your iPod at the laptop setting.Another cool feature is the boatload of adapters (eight in all) that come standard with the recharger. No more compability issues for you.You can get one of these for US$159 by clicking here.” via mobilemag.com
